The new academic year is a busy time for missionaries, beginning with Fall Outreach. For the first couple of months on campus, the missionaries will go out and meet as many students as possible. They will be busy introducing themselves, inviting students to small group studies and holding special events. Studies show that within the first 72 hours of a student being on campus, they are making decisions that will shape the rest of their college career. It is a crucial time for college life in general, but also an important window of opportunity for the missionaries to introduce them to a college faith life.
It’s so important for missionaries to experience the support and joy of team life as they go out to meet new people and invite them into a life with Christ. This is the seventh year for FOCUS at NYU, the fifth for Columbia and first for West Point!
