Written during Nero’s brutal persecution of the followers of “the way,” The Gospel According to St. Mark was recited in its entirety to give courage to this community of quiet rebels, whose way of radical compassion threatened the Empire’s status quo.

“*mark” is a modern dramatization of the gospel performed by George Drance, with music by Elizabeth Swados, that seeks to reclaim the original power and urgency of this ancient message. This one-man tour-de-force was originally presented at La MaMa Etc. (Read more on the Sheen Center’s website)

"Work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
For God is the one who, for his good purpose,
works in you both to desire and to work.
Do everything without grumbling or questioning,
that you may be blameless and innocent,
children of God without blemish
in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation,
among whom you shine like lights in the world,
as you hold on to the word of life,
so that my boast for the day of Christ may be
that I did not run in vain or labor in vain." Philippians 2:12-16

Hello NYU Photographers!

We are extremely excited to announce that we will be going on our first excursion of the Fall 2016 semester! Come join us as we walk the Highline, located in Chelsea. The theme for this event is "Lines" (pun intended), and we will focus on taking cool shots that involve lines and geometry. We sincerely hope you can make it out!

As always, you do not need a DSLR (those "big fancy cameras") or any photography experience to participate on this excursion. Just come along with any camera you have, phones included, and have fun snapping photos!
